Christmas is approaching, and it's the time when we wonder about the decorations to put up at home to create a warm atmosphere. But this year, we cannot ignore the many global challenges. So, in the midst of COP27, after the mega-fires, inflation, and difficulties accessing raw materials... That's why we find it hard to take a stand. Yet, we are looking for solutions to renew our expertise and adapt it to a more sustainable mode of production. That's why we offer you the Eco-friendly Wooden Christmas Tree.
Circular Economy at Aire
We have been working on circular economy issues since our beginnings. The goal is to identify used resources and give them a second life. For example, we made Pegboards from old desks that were discarded.
In September, we completed a project for the company Ovaom and the cultural center La Gaîté Lyrique. Ovaom sourced reused materials to make its future Pegboard objects. The Réserve des Arts in Pantin is a place for circular and supportive creation. There, you find many reused materials from the culture and event sectors. That’s how Ovaom provided us with wooden panels that had already been used at a previous event in Paris.
Eco-friendly Wooden Christmas Tree
We received a stock of OSB wood panels. OSB is a reconstituted wood made from wood strands 💫. It is considered a wood-based construction material. The acronym OSB stands for “Oriented Strand Board.” So, we can say we recycled recycled wood panels... Still with us? 😄
Since then, we always have a small stock of OSB in the workshop. Angèle challenged the team: why not make a limited series of Eco-friendly Wooden Christmas Trees? We immediately liked the idea and all participated in the project.
The Eco-friendly Wooden Christmas Tree is made from 22 mm thick OSB. We offer the tree in 2 different sizes. Then, there is an option with pegs and green and red 3D-printed balls. This allows you to easily create a durable decoration for Christmas.
