The Pegboards of the Week

Today I’m talking to you about a new challenge that Aire has taken on, and that is the Pegboards of the week.

A new concept implemented because we want to constantly stimulate our creativity. The goal is to produce a special Pegboard each week with a particular theme that goes beyond what we usually offer.

In 2023 we will continue to explore new shapes, atypical, interesting, and inspiring. The goal: to keep the spark of the beginnings alive within the entire Aire team. In short, to stay alive! At Aire we love challenges, and above all, we love setting up projects and challenges as a team. And it was a great opportunity!

So what is a Pegboard?

Let’s start at the beginning, what is a Pegboard? Here is our answer on this subject: a Pegboard it’s a hard perforated panel. There, you’re not much further ahead 😄

The Pegboard is a solution for modular storage. The system consists of drilling a board with regularly spaced holes.

The holes are designed to receive pegs, hooks, wooden dowels, or even shelves, allowing you to store various items according to your needs. Whether you want to create a storage space for your teas or your jewelry, the Pegboard offers great flexibility. This system was first used in 1962 and is commonly used in retail to hold products by hanging them on steel rods protruding from the board.

A true passion

With Aire, we find that the Pegboard is an extraordinary object. Yes, simply. And now we want to share all the possibilities of the Pegboard with you. When you look at a perforated board, you quickly realize that you can find an infinite number of combinations!

Whether to decorate or store all your everyday items, the Pegboard perfectly adapts to all uses.

We are working on new uses for this object. They are simply endless. So we have a bit of time ahead of us. But the most important thing for us is to manage to share the Pegboard and create together the Aire System ! Yes, there is ambition here.

A new challenge

Since we are passionate about Pegboards and love challenges, we want to push our limits. During a team meeting, we had the idea to explore shapes, materials, and textures for our Pegboards. The concept of the Pegboards of the week was born. So, we produce one Pegboard per week. These Pegboards are out of the ordinary and open up new perspectives. So Why take on such a challenge as a team?

It’s important for the entire Aire team to always innovate and try new things. It develops creativity as well as team spirit. It also helps us never to become complacent and always offer new concepts. Plus, this challenge creates bonds within the team. It’s a meeting moment where the whole team can give their opinion. We also listen to our community. We obviously seek your feedback through our social networks. Indeed, we love talking to you. We want to understand your expectations and discover tomorrow’s products with you. This is very important to us and it’s how Aire grows.

The Pegboards

Here are the Pegboards we have produced since launching the challenge:

Pegboard of the Week #1

The goal was to change the matrix of our Pegboard. Usually, we use a 3 cm matrix. This week, we are offering a grid with a 6 cm pitch. We made a series in December at the request of customers.

The idea is excellent. It’s a small step aside. But we realize that this transformation moves the Pegboard away from its industrial look. And it gives it a whole new appearance. The mesh of holes fades in favor of the raw material: wood. This gives it a more minimalist and therefore cleaner look that could appeal to many.

In short, a first Pegboard of the Week that breaks the mold while remaining simple and stylish.

Not all accessories are compatible due to a wider grid spacing, but if you choose carefully, you can still find what you’re looking for :)

Pegboard of the Week #2

The goal is to create an original Pegboard that stands out from what we usually offer while maintaining the minimalist style of our Pegboards! With its rounded, almost molecular shape and sleek design, it is perfectly on-trend and allows you to add a touch of originality and freshness to your interior.

For this second Pegboard of the week, we wanted to create a unique and design-focused product. The challenge was to create a new shape while keeping the Pegboard’s minimalism. So customers can use it easily and place all the accessories they want. In short: create a sleek, practical, and stylish Pegboard. Mission accomplished ✅

On this model, the grid is a classic grid (with a 3cm pitch), and all accessories are compatible.

The Shell #3

For this Pegboard, the inspiration is simple. We miss summer, so to wait, we created a Pegboard of the week in the shape of a shell to remind us of the sea. For this one, we decided to represent a particular shape and have a little fun!

With its scallop shell shape and green color, it gives us a Pegboard that combines two elements: water and earth. It’s a first for Aire to create such a particular and unique Pegboard. This led to several trials in the workshop before achieving a satisfactory result!

In short, a brand new pegboard inspired by the elements, with a sleek and carefully crafted design to give it a shell-like appearance. On this model, the grid is a classic grid (with a 3cm pitch), and all accessories are compatible.

The Puzzle #4

Inspired by puzzles, we went even further! We created the first Pegboard that can be assembled and disassembled. This Pegboard of the week is like a puzzle. Once again, the possibilities are endless. We want to innovate even more and this week we offer you an even more modular pegboard. Its design, fun, and colorful look will make it the perfect companion for your future workshop!

This unique Pegboard allows you to combine decoration and a fun, colorful storage system while keeping a minimalist style. With its four colors, it adds a cheerful touch to your interior.

As with all our other Pegboards, you can add accessories to organize and decorate however you like. Because this model uses a classic grid (with a 3cm pitch), all accessories are compatible.

In short, a new innovative and creative Pegboard of the week with a Montessori play aspect that you might like!

The Yin-Yang #5

Discover our new Pegboard of the week: the Yin-Yang Pegboard. Inspired by a zen atmosphere, we chose to create it to bring a touch of softness to our catalog. At the start of the design, we wanted to create a contrast with white and black. And that's where the idea of Yin-Yang was born. A symbol that is important to us and also very aesthetic.

This Pegboard gave us a hard time because of some parts, especially the thin part of the Yin and Yang. So it was another challenge, which of course was brilliantly overcome by Aire’s amazing team.

✅We loved this project because it breaks new ground. It’s this curiosity and constant desire to innovate that leads us to offer you a Pegboard like this.

The diamonds #6

This sixth Pegboard is directly inspired by the Venice Carnival. With a puzzle-like assembly system, these small diamonds fit together and come apart to create the atmosphere you want. We want to experiment with new geometric shapes because they are visually very interesting and also very aesthetic for the home.

With its diamonds in different colors, it’s very easy to vary and change the look in the blink of an eye.

As with all our other Pegboards, you can add accessories to organize and decorate however you like. Because this model uses a classic grid (with a 3cm pitch), all accessories are compatible.

The Bear #7

And finally, the last one on the list (for now 😉) is the Bear Pegboard. Inspired by the animal world, we wanted to try shapes aimed at children’s spaces. So we chose the animal theme. It’s simply perfect for evoking dreamlike worlds. This Pegboard is ideal for a child’s bedroom, a playroom, or even the bathroom.

Its super cute shape and neutral color let you add a touch of originality to your interior.

All the accessories are compatible with this Pegboard, so you can have endless fun decorating and organizing your space just like with any other Pegboard.
