Here is the final part of the interview with Emilie Migault. She reveals her decorating desires, her favorite addresses, and connects well-being with decoration.
Do you have a project you dream of realizing one day?
I would love to decorate a hotel, but I don’t yet have the reputation to access that kind of project. But decorating a hotel with all the rooms different would be a lot of fun. I don’t want to do a large sterile hotel with all the rooms on the same concept. What I would like is a small Parisian hotel with each room having its own universe.
In your opinion, what are the benefits that decoration can bring? How can decoration improve our well-being?
It’s the principle of Feng shui, an ancient Chinese art. It supports the idea that harmonizing the environmental energy of a place promotes the well-being, health, and prosperity of its occupants. In a world in constant change, whether economically or on a more personal scale, the home becomes a refuge space. I am a strong supporter of the “nest.” Let me explain: I need to feel extremely comfortable in my own home. It’s something I am passionate about giving to the clients who call me.
I truly believe that the environment we are in can bring a certain serenity. It’s extremely important to feel in harmony with the place where we live, that it reflects us. That’s why we must not impose our style on our clients. We have to adapt to their tastes and desires. The home must be a reflection of the individual and their life journey. It must adapt to the sensations they seek to fulfill.

Do you have accounts or brands you would recommend to our readers that link well-being and decoration?
When it comes to sofas, I love Marie’s corner. I also like what Maxalto and B&B Italia do.
It’s important to pay attention to details on a project. For example, curtain rods, switches, door and furniture handles. It’s these little things that show a refined and accomplished project. I love the switches from the company Meljac. They are metal switches with small push buttons or drop-shaped buttons that have an absolutely perfect finish and sobriety.
For door handles, furniture hardware, bathroom accessories, hooks, etc., “La Quincaillerie” in Paris has a very nice selection.
Série Rare
The brand “Série Rare” in the same field makes magnificent things in cast bronze with all kinds of custom patinas. We can choose much more modern black patinas, or patinas matching the finish of Meljac switches, for example. The golden patinas, a bit more flashy, fit perfectly with the Art Deco universe and give a certain prestige to the whole. That’s what I installed on one of my latest projects, and it’s truly magnificent.
Ondyna
Regarding faucets, I like what Ondyna does with the Cristina collection. These are quite sober and pretty lines, of good quality. The prices remain very reasonable. There are also much more prestigious brands (Dornbracht, Alape for bathroom furniture, etc.) with very beautiful products but that quickly raise the budget of a project.

For outdoor lighting, the brand Roger Pradier makes products with beautiful design and remarkable quality.
For indoor lighting, I like to offer my clients Hind Rabii’s products, especially the older collection where you can choose finishes and materials. I also work a lot with Voltex, which offers all the major brands of quality lighting.
The brand PH Collection, with whom I work a lot, offers an interesting choice of sober and refined furniture. They are very warm. We can choose the shades of the materials used (steel, wood). It’s always very interesting to work with brands that can offer several finishes to adapt to the tones of a project and other materials.
In terms of paint, Farrow and Ball, Ressource, and Little Green. These brands have made their reputation thanks to the subtlety of their shades and the depth of their color and finish renderings.

Do you think an object should be single-function or rather multifunctional like the Pegboard from Aire? And what do you think of the Pegboard? Does it contribute to well-being in decoration?
I think it’s a very nice idea. I always like ideas that make everyday objects design-oriented. The Pegboard is simply the board I have in my workshop where all my tools are installed. I find it very interesting to reinvent objects in a design way. Multifunctional objects are the future! Spaces are now getting smaller and smaller. I can easily see Aire’s objects in a child’s or adult’s bedroom, in the office space, or even in a kitchen. They are beautiful, modern, and minimalist products.
