The circular economy will be present at the Maison et Objet fair this year! Furniture made with a circular economy approach will be strongly represented thanks to the work of the association Les Canaux. Many companies have been involved in the Booster Circulaire #2 program for 18 months. Discover this project and come meet Aire at this new edition of Maison et Objet.
The circular economy in times of sobriety
We don’t realize that every year in France, 63 thousand tons of office furniture are put on the market. That’s 1.48 times the weight of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle. This figure should be compared to the 93 thousand tons of office furniture thrown away each year. Fortunately, some players are mobilizing to change this. This source of raw material can be reused. It has a cost so let’s not forget it in our future projects. We must reinvent our way of thinking and the production models we develop. I won’t hide that the work ahead looks long and difficult.
The association Les Canaux is mobilizing with its brilliant team to share the principles of the circular economy with professionals.

Aire will be present at the Maison et Objet fair
I am pleased to inform you that Aire will be present alongside the association Les Canaux during the Maison et Objet fair, from September 8 to 12, 2022 in Paris. We will be at booth J66 & 70 with the 18 companies supported during the Booster Circulaire #2 program.
For 18 months, we were 18 organizations across the national territory supported by Les Canaux and its network of experts. We worked on all stages of a piece of furniture’s life, from prototyping to marketing, with a focus on the circular economy and its challenges. The work done by these companies has led to the emergence of a range of furniture manufactured in series from materials sourced from reuse or repurposing.
The Circular Economy and Valdélia
In France, there is an eco-organization called Valdélia. Their mission? To guarantee a second life for collected products. Valdélia works in the fields of furniture, construction, and certain textile sectors.
Valdélia enables companies to recycle their used professional furniture. It is a tailor-made solution for collection and recycling of their used furniture. The treatment is free, and collection is organized within 48 hours from collection points throughout France.

If you have offices to donate or professional furniture that is about to be thrown out: now you know Valdélia exists! No more excuses: you can easily participate in the circular economy.
Which furniture to make in the circular economy
This is the big question related to the circular economy. How can we identify material sources, then enhance them to manufacture new objects? Collecting is one thing, but what do we do with all this material? What can we make from old office furniture? Aire offers you a starting answer. Discover the pegboard with a thousand uses. It is a circular economy Pegboard made by Aire.

The Pegboard with a Thousand Uses by Aire brings a breath of creativity to professional premises and workspaces. Two multifunctional models are available: a wall-mounted version and a self-standing version on wheels.
You can mount your Pegboard with a Thousand Uses on the wall. It will meet all office storage needs: card holder, document organizer, pencil pots, Kanban, wall shelves, coat rack, or even a green wall... In its self-standing and mobile version, this Pegboard becomes the ideal tool for visual management (signage, communication), marketing functions (commercial display, label holder), or structuring space as a room divider. It also fits perfectly in creativity and conviviality areas thanks to its set of game accessories: marble runs, ring toss, PixelArt.
