The Pegboard revisited by Maison France 5 and architect Gaëlle Cuisy

Le Pegboard revisité par Maison France 5 et l’architecte Gaëlle Cuisy - Aire

If you follow the Aire adventure for some time now you know that we are true fans of Pegboard ! Recently a client shared with us a great episode of the decor show: Maison France 5. We share with you in this article the creation of Gaëlle Cuisy, architect of the show. Gaëlle revisits the Pegboard to our greatest happiness !

LMF5 - Pegboard Children's Room

A child's room

In this episode of Maison France 5, Gaëlle Cuisy is entrusted with the layout of a child's room. It is a 10-year-old girl who is a budding tinkerer. Gaëlle Cuisy goes very far in the design of the room. The organization of the space will be structured around an integrated desk, in which the pegboard will find a prime place. Here are some images taken from the show produced by France 5. I apologize for the quality of these "screenshots."

LMF5 - Pegboard Integration

A pegboard desk

The idea of Gaëlle Cuisy is to integrate the pegboard directly into the desk of this young girl. The construction is structured with pegboards along the entire work surface. Then storage spaces will dress the upper part of the desk. These storage spaces will be able to accommodate boxes or important objects.

I find the result magnificent and I would love to have a desk in the same style in our next workshop!

The choice of Birch Plywood

If you know the range of Pegboard by Aire you may have noticed that the Birch Plywood is truly one of our favorites! In this children's room installation, Gaëlle Cuisy has chosen birch plywood for several criteria that we fully agree with!

The advantages of Birch Plywood are found:

  • in its resistance
  • its long-term stability
  • its smooth surface
  • its softness
  • its homogeneity

A pegboard closet door

Last point I want to share, a bold move by Gaëlle Cuisy. This children's room is already a stimulating creative space. But Gaëlle goes further and discreetly integrates a Pegboard on the closet door. It’s really my favorite

! The idea is simple and practical. It will be an opportunity for the new owner of this room to display her future creations, hang jewelry, the outfit of the day, or integrate a notes and memos solution. Maison France 5 briefly touches on this detail. Yet it’s a way to make an epic Ikea Hack! I hope others will take up the idea. Thank you Gaëlle Cuisy :)
